Leanne Wijnsma’s practice yeast.computer is an Amsterdam based design studio creating experiences for the senses with smell, taste, soil and microbes. Their work is about communicating the importance of the invisible. Leanne teaches at the Design Art Technology department of ArtEZ Arnhem. They also organise workshops and give talks on instinctive interfaces and prototyping future senses.

Leanne has recently exhibited at Sonic Acts (2022), Venice Architecture Biennial (2021), Triennale di Milano (2019), Werkleitz Festival (2018), Science Museum London (2017). Their work has been published in Times Magazine, Vice, Atlas Obscura, Dezeen, among others. In 2017 they won the STRP award for creative technology with the project Smell of Data, which was also shortlisted for the Art & Olfaction Award.
